About the Prints

ARCHIVAL FINE ART PRINTS

John prints images 12" x 18" and smaller with archival inks and paper using an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 ink jet printer. It uses 8 separate pigment based inks with light fastness of seventy five years and produces images every bit as clear and vibrant as traditional photographic processes.

John writes the title of each work and signs each mat. The matted photographs are then packed into crystal clear, re-sealable presentation envelopes, and shipped or mailed in a sturdy, flat box, adequately cushioned. Black is the standard color that John provides for the mats because photographs are generally easier to see against a dark background but when ordering from this site you have the option of black or white mats. NOTE: each photograph is custom printed and can take a week to produce before shipping.

LARGE PRINTS ON ALUMINUM

Remember the first time you saw HDTV?

This is high definition, photographic imaging on aluminum using a unique imaging technology much like giclee but unlike imaging processes that print on top of a coating applied to paper, the process used embeds the image into the coated finish of the aluminum. The result is a much wider gamut of colors that are richer and brighter than traditional professional grade prints with unmatched depth of field. The quality of the reproduction is in a league of it's own. Several colleges that develop media for inkjet manufacturers state that this process is the highest quality media available for imaging today and nothing else compares.

To provide you more framming options, a frame is not included but since the image is printed on a rigid sheet of aluminum and has a glossy finish, no mat or glass is necessary! Each image is custom printed and can take 2-3 weeks for delivery and will be shipped in a sturdy wooden crate. You have the freedom to choose whatever style and color of frame most suits your taste and home or office.

What is the durability of the process?

The coatings and materials have been engineered to provide a long life for the image. Image life is typically 50 years. You should treat your AluminArte in the same way you would a Giclée or photographic print. Indirect sunlight is fine, but the materials are not specifically designed for direct sunlight or outdoor use.

How do I clean the product?

You should use a microfiber towel for the best results along with Isopropyl alcohol or Maguiar’s Cleaner Wax.

These prints are Environmentally Green and the finish is Environmentally Friendly.
